LeCroy Corp. introduces the WaveMaster 8 Zi Series digital oscilloscope. The highest bandwidth and sample rate are joined with X-Stream II architecture to increase speed. Users are able to upgrade bandwidth, up to 30 GHz, staying current with emerging high-speed technologies and serial data standards.

Features include 80 GS/s of sample rate for 20 GHz to 30 GHz bandwidths, up to 512 Mpts of analysis memory and greater than 15 GHz edge triggering. Memory is available at full record lengths for analysis processing, and in 80 GS/s mode, memory can be interleaved to 512 Mpts/ch. Added functions include the Eye Doctor and SDA 8 Zi Serial Data Analyzers.

The Eye Doctor signal integrity tool set has been streamlined and is available in an easily accessible form. It allows for cable and test fixture de-embedding, pre-emphasis and de-emphasis modeling, serial data channel emulation and serial data receiver equalization.

The SDA toolset includes jitter breakdown methodologies. Precision has been improved to increase measurement accuracy and to provide complete insight. The user can capture, analyze and display nearly one million unit intervals of PCI Express-in three seconds. Time interval error, bathtub curves, simultaneous views of eye diagrams and other jitter breakdown analysis are standard.

3M introduces Right Angle Surfacemount Socket connectors for a reliable interconnection in demanding applications. Part of the Mini-Clamp Connector product line, the latest connectors feature a low-profile design that retains dual-wipe, high-mating cycles and positive mating latches.

Available in 3- and 4-pins, the connectors have three options for placing and locating components on PCBs, as well as a robust PCB retention tab feature. They are designed to provide a reliable electrical connection between sensors, actuators, drivers and control units without the need for special tools or wire preparation.

Ucamco introduces UCAM v8.3.1, PCB CAM software for enhanced data presentation.
Engineers can generate feedback layers that highlight electrical test point generation issues. The PDF output can create high-quality files with unlimited zooming, and users are able to email the files to test departments and customers.

Features include a magnifier window that provides a zoomed data image for tracking the cursor. This allows the user to save time by easily measuring two remote points without zooming in and out. In addition, support engineers are able to remotely access the user’s workstation via TeamViewer remote service software.

ITT Interconnect Solutions introduces the MDM PCB connector. The micro miniature connector can provide 100 signals in a lightweight and compact package. With a contact pitch spacing of 0.050 inch, it supplies maximum signal density when board space is limited.

The connector is designed for electronic instrument packages, avionics applications, oil field exploration and satellite systems. It is housed in an aluminum shell with W/LCP dielectric and features a twist pin contact system and crimped gold plated contacts. Multiple plating options are available.

Molex introduces EdgeLine, low-cost connectors that support high-speed signal transmissions using a card edge interface and a vertical or right angle insertion. EdgeLine includes a 12.5 Gbps stitched-terminal Edge Card connector and an insert-molded wafer CoPlannar connector.

The two press-fit connectors offer a common or simulated ground to manage power and slow-speed, single-ended signals, as well as high-speed differential circuits. Standard circuit sizes are available.

Luceo Technologies GmbH introduces X-BERT Parallex, a parallel 10 Gb/s test platform. The cost per test port is reduced because users are able to perform several BER tests at once using a single clock and pattern source.

The platform is scalable, therefore, users can begin with a single channel and add modules if needed. In addition, it aids in the design and development of 8 Gb/s to 11.3 Gb/s optical and electrical transceivers.
