Circuit Components Inc. (CCI) releases a design guide for custom laminated bus bars. This design guide, written by the Bussco Bus Bars Engineering team of CCI, is intended to provide general guidelines for all those involved in the procurement or design of custom laminated bus bars. It covers design and product construction considerations. It contains useful formulas and data for the typical materials used in the construction of bus bars. A design example explains the use of formulas for the calculation of current, minimum dimensions, and properties to meet a specific customer application, including electrical, environmental and mechanical requirements.
Viking Pump, Inc. has introduced the “RS” series of 1,600 GPM pumps which the company claims can develop pressures to 200 PSI, operate with viscosities up to 2,000,000 SSU and function with fluids at temperatures from -120°F to 800°F. Models include the RS324A (cast iron), RS323A (steel) and RS327A (316 stainless steel).
The company reports that the pump design features sealing options that include cartridge seals, component mechanical seals or packing, and allows changes in seal types in the field. The enlarged bearing housing provides in-line access to bearings and seals, and allows adjustment of end clearances.
Available jacketing options include the bracket, casing, flanges, head and relief valve. The jacketing areas allow for claimed rapid heating and faster startup using steam or hot oil. Fully jacketed, the RS provides uniform temperature control for your critical processes, and is suited for use in applications including asphalt, chemical, oilseed and petroleum processing, rubber, resins, coatings and adhesives.
Data Miner 2.0 data reporting software for manufacturing reportedly streamlines how manufacturing engineers, managers, and corporate executives access manufacturing information and create reports.

TechniENickel AT 5500 is a lead-free and cadmium-free electroless nickel formulation specifically designed for printed circuit board applications. According to the company, proprietary stabilizers in the TechniENickel process produces a mid-phosphorus deposit that addresses industry issues like skip plating, edge pull back and black pad. In production TechniENickel AT 5500 has demonstrated improved in-tank stability and eliminated problems including poor electroless nickel coverage. TechniENickel AT 5500 is a simple two-component replenishment system, requiring less engineering and analytical support than other ENIG processes.

The company claims a high fault detection at a minimal false call rate due to the use of flexible illumination, a modular camera configuration, advanced OCR functions and LASER height measurement. A telecentric lens and user-friendly debug tools results in claimed fast inspection results by the use of a manufacturing-oriented library structure that handles alternative components, with import modules for various placement data formats. The OptiCon systems can be used for automated optical inspection of mounted PCBs before or after the soldering process.
Circuit Suds has introduced an environmental-friendly biodegradable cleaner with claimed minimal environmental impact that is suitable for no-clean, rosin, and lead-free processes. The company claims that no special shipping or handling precautions are required, that the product is non-flammable and non-volatile, and that it can be disposed of as ordinary waste-water with a few exceptions. The company also states that the concentrate is suitable for a wide range of uses, from automated lines to hand-cleaning applications, and is available in one gallon, five gallon or larger containers.
