TAIPEI -- Foxconn (Hon Hai) reported consolidated revenue fell 1.7% year-over-year to NT$300.3 billion ($10 billion) in July on lower demand for PCs.

IRVINE, CA -- Multi-Fineline Electronix saw fiscal third quarter net sales plunge, primarily due to lower sales to a key customer. The company swung to a net loss of $31.5 million, compared to net income of $3.8 million last year.

KYOTO, JAPAN – Kyocera concluded a share transfer agreement with Toppan Printing Co. and NEC to acquire all shares of the printed circuit board manufacturing company NEC Toppan Circuit Solutions.

ST. LOUIS – Viasystems Group posted a net loss for the June quarter of $10.3 million, up from a net loss of $33 million a year ago, and a net loss in the previous quarter ended Mar. 31 of $13.3 million.

KUNSHAN, CHINA-- Foxconn said allegations that its has polluted a major river in China are false, insisting that its printed circuit board plants here meet all local laws and regulations. The denial comes in response to a report released last week by the Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs and other nonprofit organizations that accuses Foxconn of dumping wastewater containing high levels of heavy metals.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – DuPont Circuit Packaging Materials and IQLP today announced ongoing efforts to further develop and refine liquid crystal polymer thin-films for use in high-speed circuit applications. DuPont plans to use LCP thin-film in the production of circuits for applications such as smart phones, telecom, internet infrastructure, high-speed computing and radar sensing devices.
