HERTFORDSHIRE, UK – A push is on to expand a joint Congolese-NGO program aimed at securing mines across the nation, ensuring a steady supply of "conflict-free" minerals from the war-torn region. The Democratic Republic of Congo's national Ministry of Mines and the iTSCi Programme team are undertaking an evaluation of conflict-free mines in four provinces: North and South Kivu, Maniema and Katanga.

MELVILLE, NY -- Park Electrochemical's high-performance materials are making up an increasing percentage of the company's laminate sales, a trend company executives believe will continue. High-performance (non FR-4) laminate comprised 88% of the business unit's sales in the most recent quarter, up two points from the previous quarter and six points from last year.

MELVILLE, NY -- Park Electrochemical reported second-quarter net sales of $44.5 million, down 3.2% from a year ago. For the period ended Sept. 1, the printed circuit laminate manufacturer reported net earnings of $8.1 million, up from $3.3 million in the August 2012 quarter.
