BANNOCKBURN, IL -- A ballot to approve IPC-2581 Revision B has passed unanimously, and publication is now pending the inclusion of about a dozen minor suggestions. Most of the edits are grammatical in nature, says Dieter Bergman, but a couple technical comments might need to be addressed.

YOKOHAMA, JAPAN – Zuken will invest up to $50 million over the next three years to expand its presence in North America, including the creation of a research and development lab in the Silicon Valley, the company says. The printed circuit board design software company has allocated $30 million to $50 million to establish the center, in Milpitas, CA, and for merger and acquisitions.

WILSONVILLE, OR -- Mentor Graphics reported second quarter earnings rose 35% year-over-year to $24 million. For the period ended July 31, the printed circuit board and semiconductor design software developer reported revenues of $253.2 million, up 7.4% from a year ago.
