SYDNEY -- Altium reported fiscal first-quarter sales rose 3% year-over-year to $11.7 million. For the period ended Sept. 30, total revenue was up 12% to $14.6 million.

ATLANTA – PCB West show attendance rose 20.3% year-over-year, boosted in part by a 22% increase in exhibitors. Conference attendance jumped 31% over 2012 as printed circuit board designers, fabricators and assemblers flocked to the event’s largest technical program in years, said UP MEDIA GROUP, which produces the annual Silicon Valley trade show.

NEW YORK -- BitSyncom is planning a contest to create an open source printed circuit board design for its second-generation ASIC chips. The new chips will use a 55nm technology and reportedly will run four times as fast as the firm's first-generation 110nm chips. The winner will receive 5,000 chips, totaling 7.5 TH/s overclocked.
