YOKOHAMA, JAPAN – Zuken will invest up to $50 million over the next three years to expand its presence in North America, including the creation of a research and development lab in the Silicon Valley, the company says. The printed circuit board design software company has allocated $30 million to $50 million to establish the center, in Milpitas, CA, and for merger and acquisitions.

WILSONVILLE, OR -- Mentor Graphics reported second quarter earnings rose 35% year-over-year to $24 million. For the period ended July 31, the printed circuit board and semiconductor design software developer reported revenues of $253.2 million, up 7.4% from a year ago.

SAN DIEGO – Altium announced Desktop EDA's Solidworks Modeler and IDF Modelers have been integrated with Altium Designer printed circuit board design software. The move offers designers better ECAD and MCAD integration, Altium said.
