SANTA CLARA, CA – Agilent Technologies Inc. introduces Advanced Design System (ADS) 2009 Update 1, the industry’s first complete front-to-back solution for MMIC and RF module design. The release integrates wireless standards-based design verification libraries, 3D EM analysis, X-Parameter simulation and statistical design and yield optimization. Designers can stay within the design and simulation platform of choice for the entire design cycle, eliminating the need for separate, time-consuming point tools. Features include an X-Parameter simulation model generator, delivering fast, drop-in useable and accurate nonlinear behavioral models; integrated planar and 3D EM simulation and analysis, allowing designers to account for EM effects from packages and interconnects without import/export of data or models; and an MMIC layout personality, allowing one-click access to MMIC layout functions. In addition, designers can interactively modify settings in real time using the Optimization Cockpit.
WILSONVILLE, OR --Mentor Graphics Corp. introduces PADS 9.0, allowing designers to employ many of the company’s technologies for design, analysis, manufacturing and multi-disciplined collaboration. Users can design products from standard to the most complex, highest performance and densest PCBs. Manufacturing and collaboration tools, core design entry and layout enhancements and powerful thermal, signal and power integrity analysis have been added. Features include a 3D viewer that provides a design’s true 3D representation and the DxDesigner tool that gives a complete system design capability in a single user environment. Padstack creation has been improved, allowing rounded and chamfered corners, and PADS 9.0 includes new outputs, such as IPC356 netlist and a “flat” DXF file.
Users are able to integrate many of Mentor’s advanced technology offerings, including HyperLynx Analog, I/O Designer, HyperLynx Signal Integrity and Power Integrity, the viseECAD tool and HyperLynx Thermal.
MUNICH, GERMANY and WESTFORD, MA--Zuken has introduced the E3.3DRoutingBridge, an interface between MCAD systems and E3.series. Data exchange between 3D Harness Design Systems and E3.series designs are facilitated with a user interface, single installation and added functionality. The product sends electrical data from E3.series to the mechanical CAD system and then receives structural information. Standard file transfer formats include ASCII, XML or CSV.
WINNIPEG, CANADA – To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Integrated Engineering Software has launched a referral program that gives back to the community. For every existing customer who refers a new customer, $150 will be donated to the charity of his or her choice. Integrated provides a complete product line of fully integrated 2D and 3D simulation software.
CANBY, OR – Design engineers spoke, and Screaming Circuits listened. The company has introduced an online PCB layout tool to streamline the quote and the ordering processes, allowing engineers to devote more time to product development. Users can input the number of components and nets and nodes into an online calculator that immediately provides a quote for PCB layout. Orders can be placed online as well. In addition, the service provides layout files that can be sent directly to Sunstone Circuits for board fabrication, with board assembly occurring at Screaming Circuits. RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA and FLORIANOPOLIS, BRAZIL –Fundação CERTI has implemented Valor Computerized Systems’ Trilogy DfM, vPlan, vManage and solutions. CERTI is a private technology research and development organization, providing industrial and service companies with innovative and competitive technological solutions. The company purchased the software in December of 2008 and installation was completed this March. The software covers the full manufacturing preparation and execution process, including DfM analysis of native CAD files, SMT part verification and component level materials management. “The Valor solution will provide CERTI with complete real-time visibility and control over its manufacturing processes, as well as full traceability of components and materials. We expect to duplicate the success we have shared with CERTI at many other Brazilian electronics manufacturers,” said Dan Weitzman, Valor’s president of American operations.
