WASHINGTON – The Semiconductor Industry Association released the following statement in response to the new export controls announced by the US Commerce Department. SIA represents 99% of the US semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-US chip firms.

MILPITAS, CA – Printed circuit board and multichip module design software revenue increased 6.3% in the second quarter to total $369 million, according to the ESD Alliance's latest Electronic Design Market Data (EDMD) report. The four-quarter moving average for PCB and MCM, which compares the most recent four quarters to the prior four, rose 11.7%.

WASHINGTON – Global semiconductor industry sales totaled $44 billion in August, an increase of 1.9% compared to July's total of $43.2 billion but 6.8% less than the August 2022 total of $47.2 billion.
