NEEDHAM, MA – Worldwide tablet shipments posted a decline of 14.2% year over year in the third quarter, totaling 33.2 million units, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker.

WASHINGTON – Global semiconductor sales for September increased 1.9% month-to-month and fell 4.5% year-over-year, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association.

MILPITAS, CA – Worldwide silicon wafer shipments decreased 9.6% quarter-over-quarter to 3.01 billion sq. in. in the third quarter, a 19.5% drop from the 3.74 billion sq. in. recorded during the same quarter last year, the SEMI Silicon Manufacturers Group (SMG) reported in its quarterly analysis of the silicon wafer industry.

NEEDHAM, MA – Worldwide smartphone shipments declined 0.1% year over year to 302.8 million units in the third quarter, according to preliminary data from IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. Although macroeconomic uncertainties linger as markets struggle with soft demand, inflation, and geopolitical tensions, healthy inventory and the slower pace of decline are encouraging some vendors to increase shipments.
