FRAMINGHAM, MA – Worldwide PC shipments totaled 62.4 million units in the second quarter, down 4.5% year-over-year, says International Data Corp. The results beat the research firm's previous forecast of a 7.4% drop.

STAMFORD, CT – Market research firm Gartner today raised its 2016 worldwide IT spending outlook to $3.41 trillion, flat with 2015's results. Last quarter the firm predicted IT spending would drop 0.5%. The change in the forecast is mainly a result of currency fluctuations, the firm says.
