The Semiconductor Industry Association's Global Sales Report, a three-month moving average of semiconductor sales activity, as tabulated by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization, which represents approximately 66 semiconductor companies worldwide. According to SIA, the moving average is a mathematical smoothing technique that mitigates variations due to companies' various financial calendars. Semiconductor sales are considered a leading indicator for future printed circuit board and electronics assembly sales.
