FRANKFURT -- Germany region PCB manufacturers saw sales growth continue in January, rising 11.5% year-over-year.
Growth was well above the average of the past 12 months, said the ZVEI trade association. Compared to the previous December, sales volume increased almost 40%.
New orders also rose sharply compared to December, up 29% sequentially and 17% from last year. It was the fourth-highest order intake in the past three years, ZVEI said.
The book-to-bill ratio was 1.11, down 90 basis points from December but still well above the benchmark 1.0 that signals future growth. The ratio is determined by dividing the value of orders by the value of sales over a set period of time.
The number of staff employed at the region's PCB fabricators rose 2.3% compared to January 2017.
