FRANKFURT -- Sales at German printed circuit board manufacturers grew 3.1% year-over-year in May, reports ZVEI PCB and Electronic Systems. 

Year to date sales are down 0.5%, the trade group added.

Orders for the month fell 7.4% from a year ago. Overall, orders are down 1.7% from the previous year.

Orders and shipments are calculated on a 30-day moving average.

The book-to-bill ratio rose for the third consecutive month, rising to 1.05, up 30 basis points from April.

The number of worked employed by German PCB fabricators decreased slightly from April but rose 1.1% versus to May 2015, ZVEI said.
