SAN JOSE — North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers reported the 90-day moving average orders rose 12.9% over 2015 in June.
The sector posted $1.71 billion in orders worldwide in June, the trade group SEMI said, down 2.1% sequentially but still up definitively from a year ago.
The three-month average worldwide billings was $1.71 billion, up 7% from the final May figures and up 10.2% from June 2015. Shipments reached their highest level since February 2011, SEMI noted
The book-to-bill ratio dropped 9 basis points from May to 1.0. A ratio of 1.0 means that $100 worth of orders were received for every $100 of product billed for the month.
