MINNEAPOLIS – Printed circuit fabricator Printed Circuits Inc. can now bury resistors and capacitors in rigid-flex and flexible circuits.

Using novel material sets, the company says it can provide improved circuit density, device miniaturization, simplified in-circuit testing and improved signal processing.

Passive devices can be located near the microprocessor, improving electrical performance and minimizing parasitic interference caused by remote location, vias, traces, etc.

Printed Circuits manufactures multilayer flex and rigid flex PCBs.

TAIPEI – The parent company of Nanya PCB may invest $1 billion in mainland China this year, building new plants for printed circuit board fabrication, a company executive told local press.

No other details were provided.

Formosa Plastics Group is the parent company of Nanya PCB, one of the world’s five largest printed circuit board fabricators. It also is parent to Nanya’s massive laminates business.

LISLE, IL -- Molex's printed circuit board and assembly group reported sales of $194.1 million in the quarter ended Dec. 31. Sales were down from $214.2 million a year ago.

As a percent of the company's overall sales, the unit, which makes custom flex circuits and assemblies, among other products, recorded 26.6% of the overall sales, down about six points from a year ago.

Molex does not break out the specific operating profits or net earnings for the group.
