TOKYO --  Mitsui Mining & Smelting has expanded its production capacity of thin embedded capacitor materials, the company announced today.

In response to demand the company has fully ramped production at its subsidiary in Malaysia.

The Malaysia site added the new line in April.

Mitsui Mining's FaradFlex brand material is used in multilayer printed circuit boards for high-speed transmission routers, servers and supercomputers. Demand has been increasing rapidly, particularly in Asia, the firm said, and is expected to continue to increase.

"Although the Malaysia Plant was already handling part of the process for FaradFlex,  Mitsui Kinzoku believes that the introduction of the integrated production line will significantly reduce lead time for Asian markets, the main source of demand, and contribute  to improved convenience for customers," Mitsui said in a statement. " Mitsui Kinzoku will remain focused on maintaining the high quality and stable supply of  FaradFlex as demand continues to grow."
