MIDLAND, MI – Dow Chemical's Electronic Materials business unit saw first-quarter sales fall as increased volumes were offset by lower prices.
The Electronic and Functional Materials unit's sales were $1.1 billion, up 2% year-over-year, as functional materials made up for the drop in electronics.
Overall company first-quarter sales were $14.4 billion, down 2% year-over-year. EBITDA was $2.2 billion, up 29.4% compared to the year-ago period. Total volume grew in emerging geographies (up 2%), led by Latin America (up 6%). Volume remained flat in North America and declined in Western Europe (down 12%).
