ST. PAUL, MN – 3M reported first-quarter sales of $7.6 billion, up 2% year-over-year, a first-quarter record.
Net income was $1.1 billion, up 0.4% compared to the same period last year.
Operating income was $1.6 billion, up 0.7% year-over-year.
Electronics and Energy segment sales were $1.3 billion, down 3.3%. Sales declined in electronics, as industry demand remained soft overall, the firm says.
Operating income for the segment decreased 16.3% to $196 million.
