WILSONVILLE, OR – Mentor Graphics’ fiscal fourth-quarter profit was $49.2 million, up 25% year-over-year, beating the firm’s estimates. Revenue jumped 30% to $307.3 million.
Revenue in the company's system and software business, the largest portion of Mentor's top line, increased 41%.
The company forecasts first-quarter revenue of about $225 million.
Billionaire investor Carl Icahn earlier this week made a $1.91 billion bid to purchase Mentor, which provides software and hardware design-automation tools for the development and testing of advanced electronic systems.
