Fujipoly's Zebra connector incorporates a silicone sponge on one or both sides of the connector. The company claims that the support material creates a larger base width, eliminating the need to install a connector holder on the circuit board.

The connector can reportedly be specified with 140, 240 or 500 conductors per inch, and is used to connect PCB and LCD panels.

The company claims that the sponge support also makes the product useful for shock and vibration applications commonly found in hand-held devices, and that the product is available in a variety of widths, has a current carrying capacity of .050 amps per .035” x .035” pad, and a contact resistance of less than 0.50 ohms.
