Aries Electronics has released the Series 700, 0518 and 0501 RoHS-compliant sockets specifically designed for high pin count or off-centered components, with applications including socketing DIP devices with non-standard dimensions and elevating LCD displays to a viewing window.

The company claims that the series 0518 sockets can be cut to the specific number of pins to fit select applications. In addition, the sockets are available in single or dual rows and can be stacked side-by-side or end-to-end. The Series 0501 and 700 strip-line sockets feature bifurcated contacts and can be used for mounting liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and other high pin count or off-centered components, with several sizes suitable for wire wrap or solder tail pins. The Series 700 is is designed for elevated mounting of LCDs from 0.36” to 2.”, with additional spacers available for both socket series, ranging from 0.3” to 1.3” centers.
