PETACH-TIKVA, ISRAEL – Eltek Ltd. has announced its third-quarter results. Operating income was reported at $319,000. The increase has been attributed to a 40% increase in revenues and more efficient use of raw materials. Third-quarter revenues came in at $12.3 million, marking a 40% increase from 2007. The gross profit nearly doubled to $2 million, and the gross profit margin was almost 17%. Eltek also reduced its net loss to $21,000, a substantial difference when compared to last year’s figure of $223,000. EBITDA for the quarter was reported at $849,000
HAMPSHIRE, UK – Cemco FSL reports that the Enthone AlphaSTAR immersion silver process has been approved for use in the Cemco Streamline AS500 Silver Emersion System. The approval comes after extensive testing. The unique design of the AS500 includes conveyor speeds of up to 0.5 mpm, as well as a total line length of less than 5 meters. The footprint is 50% smaller than traditional systems. Additional features include low-power heaterless drying and high-volume fluid knife rinsing technology.
SAN JOSE, CA and OWEGO, NY – Sanmina-SCI Corporation has cut about 110 jobs at its printed circuit board facility in Owego. The layoffs on November 21 included both temporary and permanent workers.
In October, Jure Sola, CEO and chairman, stated that product demand was predicted to remain low for the fourth quarter, and the company would be watching costs, refocusing on market diversity and booking new orders. The company does not have plans for a major restructuring in 2009.

She brings nearly 20 years of experience in marketing. Prior
to her appointment, she held a similar position with Wacom Technology
Corporation. “Diane’s considerable marketing expertise and high standards are

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Jabil Circuitannounced that it plans to layoff 150 workers in
December, due to the troubled global economy and a decline in customer orders.
The company has not identified which product lines will be affected; 100
manufacturing and 50 office jobs are on the block.
GHENT, BELGIUM – UCAMCO has appointed Rik Vandekerckhove as sales director for Asia. He will be responsible for sales of the company’s full range of software and plotter products in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, South-East Asia and India. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry. Prior to joining UCAMCO, Vandekerckhove was a product support and development engineer for a major European PCB fabricator. UCAMCO feels his experience has given him an understanding of the Asian market and a knowledge of the needs of Asian fabricators. “He will continue to work with our agents and distributors in each country to ensure that every customer gets the maximum benefit from our products,” explained Karel Tavernier, managing director.
