TAIPEI – Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board (NPC) is predicting its sales in the printed circuit board (PCB) industry will decrease 15% to 25% for the fourth quarter. Despite the decline, investors expect NPC to perform above the industry average due to its product diversity and ties with first-tier customers such as Intel.

The fourth quarter has brought a drop in NPC’s utilization rate. Flip-chip (FC) fell to 80% to 90%. For the third quarter, FCs comprised 53% to 57% of the company’s total sales. Although FC capacity was increased to 32 million units in October, further expansion is uncertain.

Wire-bonding substrates and traditional PCBs dropped to below 70% to 80%. PCBs accounted for 27% to 32% of total sales for the third quarter; wire-bond substrates comprised 14% to 18%.
