BANNOCKBURN, IL -- North American electronics manufacturing services companies reported shipments in July fell 4.1% compared to 2024.

Shipments were down 5.1% versus June, and are down 0.6% for the year.

Bookings rose 7.9% year-over-year and 13.4% from the previous month. Year to date bookings are up 1.5%.

The book-to-bill ratio for the month was 1.23, down 50 basis points from June. The ratio is calculated by dividing the value of orders booked over the past three months by the value of sales billed during the same period. A ratio of more than 1.0 suggests future market growth.

“EMS bookings rose in July even as shipments eased. After clearing earlier deliveries, customers are stepping up orders as momentum normalizes,” said Shawn DuBravac,  chief economist, Global Electronics Association.
