SAN JOSE — North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers reported the three-month moving average orders rose 35% over a year ago in September.
Reporting companies had an aggregate $1.60 billion in orders worldwide for the period, SEMI added, down 4.1% from the final August figures.
The three-month average worldwide billings was $1.50 billion, down 4.6% from the revised August level up 19.7% from September 2014 billings level.
The book-to-bill ratio of 1.07, meaning $107 worth of orders were received for every $100 of product billed for the month. A ratio over 1.0 is considered an indicator of near-term growth.
The SEMI book-to-bill is a ratio of three-month moving averages of worldwide bookings and billings for North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers.
