AUSTIN, TX -- A local contract assembler is facing $50,000 in fines following its conviction for violating state hazardous waste laws.

Bencor, a printed circuit board fabricator and assembler, was convicted of abandoning drums containing hazardous waste in a local storage facility.

In addition to the fine levied at Bencor, owner Christine Giese has been ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution.
