TOKYO -- Hitachi Via Mechanics will invest one billion yen ($112 million) in a new manufacturing plant for NC drills in China, according to published reports.

Hitachi, the world's largest maker of drills for PWB fabrication, has selected a spot in China for the new site, which is expected to be online by the end of 2010. The site will have a capacity of 1000 units per year, DKN Research is reporting.
