SANTA ANA, CA – TTM Technologies has announced the acquisition of a 750,000 sq. ft. facility in Eau Claire, WI, and land rights for a new manufacturing site in Penang, Malaysia.
The Wisconsin facility, formerly owned by TDK Hutchinson Technology, is fully equipped to support printed circuit board production. TTM plans to use the site to accelerate US-based manufacturing of high-volume PCBs, particularly for data center computing and generative AI applications.
“The Eau Claire facility represents a critical leap forward in TTM’s ability to support customers requiring high volume, advanced technology U.S. PCB manufacturing,” said Tom Edman, president and CEO of TTM Technologies. “Because the infrastructure is already in place, we can accelerate the deployment of equipment and capabilities.”
Wisconsin officials welcomed the investment. “This facility is ready-made for TTM to strengthen domestic customer relationships and produce critical electronic components,” said Missy Hughes, CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
In addition to the US expansion, TTM has secured land rights for a future facility in Penang. The 10-acre site is located near TTM’s current Malaysian operations and will support commercial markets such as data center computing, networking, medical and industrial applications.
The Penang investment aligns with customer demand for diversified supply chains and expands TTM’s presence in Southeast Asia.
The company stated that it does not expect a significant financial impact from these investments, but both projects are key to its long-term growth and global production resilience.
