BREA, CA – Additive Circuits Technologies has acquired Brea-based Winonics for an undisclosed sum.
ACT is a developer of novel manufacturing processes for greater ultra-fine conductor widths, spacing and complex geometries on printed circuit boards, including radio-frequency, microwave features and the use of novel materials. The company primarily supports he military, aerospace and communication markets.
Winonics was founded in 1967 as a rigid printed circuit board fabricator for commercial applications across multiple sectors. The company presently has dozens of customers across North America. It was purchased by JR Controls in 2018.
The factory in Brea will continue to support all existing customers and production. Over the coming weeks, the Brea facility will be installing ACT process production lines that will permit finer-line products and applications requiring high-speed materials.
“The acquisition of Winonics adds to ACT two equally needed resources, an excellent physical manufacturing facility and a first-rate operations and production team," said Stephen Spoonamore, CEO, ACT. "The team at Winonics has a solid reputation in the industry, decades of service and quality production for traditional printed circuit boards. The addition of ACT’s advanced technologies will allow the company multiple paths to grow with both existing and new customers.”
Mark Eazell, general manager Winonics-ACT, added, “We’re excited about having two companies coming together to focus on developing better products for our customers. We already have long-standing customers expressing interest in the new capabilities and product offerings.”
ACT-Winonics will continue to provide rigid printed circuit boards, while broadening product offerings with ACT’s technologies. In 2021 the company is planning to roll out flex and rigid-flex products.
