TAIPEI -- Asia Electronic Material reported a consolidated revenue of NT$172 million ($5.62 million) in May, up 4.6% sequentially and 41.7% from a year ago.
The firm has year to date sales of the cumulative revenue of NT$717 million ($23 million), up 32.4%. The firm cited higher demand for polyimide film, adding that price hikes on its own products matched those of upstream suppliers.
Given high demand, prices may continue to increase, the firm added.
The company's plant in Kunshan, China, is at a 60% to 70% utilization rate, and NT$560 million ($18.8 million) has been allocated toward a new plant at Dongtai to increase capacity. The new plant will produce flexible copper-clad laminates, high-frequency material, and other products in the future. Construction is planned for August, with trial production to commence in August next year.
