AARBERGEN, GERMANY -- Beta Layout has added quickturn flexible printed circuit board fabrication capability, the company announced today.
For prototypes, the PCB fabricator has introduced a manufacturing service that gang-builds the flex circuits by means of putting multiple part numbers on a single panel. By combining numerous different PCB designs on a single panel and manufacturing them as one, the company can reduce overall cost and eliminates expensive tooling charges.
The company can prototype flexible circuits in single or double layers at its Germany facility. Polyimide material is used as the base layer; the thickness between the copper layers is 18 microns and the overall PCB thickness is 0.2mm. There is also the option to add stiffener material.
Beta Layout is based in Aarbergen, Germany, and has sites in Ireland, France, South Africa, and the US. The company had 2014 sales of about 24 million euros.
