PITTSBURGH -- Ansys reported fourth-quarter sales rose 12% year-over-year, setting a new record for the EDA software developer.
Profit fell to $69.6 million for the quarter, down 8% from a year ago, when Ansys booked $11 million in incremental tax benefits.
For the year, sales were up 9% to $936 million, also a record. Net income was $254.7 million, up from $245.3 million in 2013.
Ansys CEO and president Jim Cashman said: "We had a very strong finish to the year, achieving record revenue and earnings, both of which surpassed the high end of our expectations. Most importantly, we delivered double-digit revenue growth in constant currency for the quarter. We also reached an historic milestone for the company in 2014, surpassing $1 billion in total sales bookings, which contributed to record cash flows that increased 16% over FY 2013."
