PITTSBURGH – Ansys recorded second quarter revenue of $368.6 million, growth of 21% year-over-year.

Net income for the quarter was $109.8 million, an increase of 19% compared to the same period last year.

“Our focus on sales execution, coupled with our world-class products, has resulted in another quarter of excellent financial performance,” said Ajei Gopal, Ansys president and CEO. “We surpassed the high end of our expectations for both revenue and earnings, driven by double-digit revenue growth across each of our three major geographies. We also closed the largest single-physics deal in our company history, a $49 million, multi-year lease deal in the high-tech space. In May, we released ANSYS R2, which builds upon our industry-leading product portfolio, empowering customers to do more with multi-physics in less time, automating simulation and making it easier to use. We also expanded our partner ecosystem during the second quarter – a key part of our pervasive simulation strategy – announcing new agreements with BMW and Airbus.”

For the first half of 2019, Ansys reported revenue of $685.8 million, up 16% year-over-year. Net income was $196 million, an increase of 11%.

The company currently expects third quarter revenue of $318.4 million to $338.4 million and full-year 2019 revenue of $1.45 billion to $1.49 billion.
