TOKYO – Zuken reported first quarter revenues of 6.08 billion yen, up 7.8% year-over-year. Operating profit for the period ended Jun. 30 rose 1.7% to 351 million yen. Net income rose 2% to 259 million yen.

It was the EDA company’s fourth consecutive first quarter record.

In a statement, the company said that capital investment has become cautious, but IT investment continues to be positive. Sales of the CR-8000 PCB design platform were strong, as were network-related products.

Japan reported a 9% increase in net sales to 4.51 billion on steady sales of IT solutions and circuit design orders. Europe’s sales were up 2.8% year-over-year to 1.34 billion yen, while net sales in the US rose 30.7% to 449 million yen on higher PCB CAD sales, and Asia’s net sales were 294 million yen.

PCB design software sales rose in the US, partially offset by lower demand Asia and Europe.
