SAN DIEGO -- Altium today named longtime EDA executive Henry Potts senior vice president enterprise solutions.

Until the past couple weeks, Potts was vice president and general manager of Mentor Graphics' Systems Design Division, where he had responsibility for printed circuit board design tools. He has more than 30 years of industry experience overall.

"He is well-known and highly respected within our industry as a leader with a passion for PCB and high quality solutions for customers. At Altium, [Potts] will pursue this passion to bring to market the next generation of PCB tools for high-end users and for Enterprise accounts. This is a major step forward for Altium in its pursuit of market leadership in PCB design tools."

In his role at Altium Potts will contribute to enterprise solutions development.

Potts spent the past 16 years as at Mentor, and was previously in the IC and systems development at Hitachi Semiconductor and Motorola.
