Since the beginning of this year Britta Schwartz, grandchild of the company founder Werner Peters, strengthens the family business as Assistant to the Management.

Headed by Brigitte Schwartz nee Peters and Ralf Schwartz as well as Rüdiger Dietrich, Michael Müller, Benjamin Alfes and Britta Schwartz, the family-owned company is well positioned to drive forward extensive and future-oriented developments in the various corporate divisions.

The expansion of the Asian business and local presence, the optimization of the Global OEM management by introducing a new CRM module and the envisaged IATF 16949:2016 certification are only a few out of many projects in which the customers are always in the focus, in order to present customised and high quality solutions. Britta Schwartz contributes with her expertise and professional experience to the Supply Chain Management while analysing the flows of goods and information, identifying opportunities for optimisation and implementing process improvements. While acquiring an overview of the facts and operating processes she takes any opportunity in parallel to get established as an all-rounder and meet important business partners in person.

She graduated from Maastricht University – School of Business and Economics where she obtained her Master of Science in “International Business – Entrepreneurship and SME Management“. Besides one semester abroad at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark she completed intensive internships at Henkel, Lackwerke Peters Rep.-Office Shanghai, Lindt & Sprüngli, thp treuhandpartner and Stünings Medien. The topic of her Bachelor thesis ”Learning and Innovation in Supply Chains – How to encounter the Red Queen Effect” was already oriented towards her new focus of activity within Peters, while her Master thesis

”Ambidexterity in Family Businesses – The Influence of Technological Collaboration on Explorative Innovations” paved the way for joining the family business even further. Britta Schwartz gained some first entrepreneurial experience as the co-founder of a student company named ”CellMates“ in Maastricht that distributed special antibacterial wipes particularly suitable for smartphones.

In addition, her business experience as “Planning Manager Western Europe” at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA in Düsseldorf is of particular benefit when dealing with her new responsibilities. The tasks that she brilliantly managed at Henkel included continuous process improvements of production planning and stock control in various warehouses (national and foreign) in cooperation with the sales departments, suppliers and production plants.

For many years now, she has been in a relationship with Benjamin Alfes who already joined the corporate group as of 1st September 2016. Her cousin Tim Schwartz, based in Hong Kong, took over the responsibility for the Asian branches. The third generation brings in new findings and experience as well as values that will not only enrich the company but also drive it forward. This way, the lifetime achievement of the senior manager Mr. Werner Peters who passed away on 1st January 2017 is carried on as an innovative family business.
