Prototron’s Mark Thompson to Present at Cascade Designer’s Council Meeting
REDMOND, WA -- Dave Ryder, President of Prototron Circuits of Redmond, Washington and Tucson, Arizona has announced that his company will be hosting this areas’ Cascade Designer’s Council Meeting at their Redmond, facility on Wednesday January 18th from 6 to 8 PM.
Prototron’s Mark Thompson CID specializing in Technical Customer Support with a specialty in signal integrity/ controlled impedance will be giving the presentation titled:
“Common fab Concerns and Dealing with today’s Controlled Impedances”
He will be discussing typical issues seen from a Fabrication standpoint, missing pads, holes drilling through traces, same net space violations and other design and manufacturing issues. And what is really necessary to be able to properly model impedances prior to lay out for a given customer and the importance of making sure the information is understood. (Understanding the variables of Signal Integrity – material selection, Dk, Propagation speeds, press params , etc...)He will also talk about solutions for “reasonable” trace and space for un-usual impedance requirements and how to reduce surface trace widths by use of Co-planar coupling.
The presentation will be followed by a brief virtual shop tour of a “typical” multilayer so the process’ are better understood.
Commented Mr. Ryder when making the announcement, “We are always looking for the opportunity to host events such as this one since our focus is always on helping our customers with their technical printed circuit board needs. If our customers succeed, then we succeed.”

About Cascade Designers’ Council
The Cascade Chapter of the IPC Designers Council, is located in the Seattle area of Washington. It is a non-profit organization setup to promote the printed circuit board design industry by providing localized printed circuit board design related training from industry experts, certification programs, and networking with others involved within the PCB design industry.
Meetings are held bi-monthly and will usually be held in the evenings but may occasionally be held during the lunch-time period.
There are no longer any membership dues, but Cascade Chapter membership registration through IPC is required. First time guests are always welcome. If you become a member, your chapter membership will also entitle you to certain discounts with IPC, as well as discounts to our paid meetings/events of the Cascade Chapter.
