HUNTSVILLE, AL– Accelerated Designs Inc. announced an integrated interface to Digi-Key part data. Users will be able to download electronic component information directly from Digi-Key. The interface will also provide quick updates to existing CAD libraries. In addition, the Ultra Librarian tool set will provide an automated method for creating new CAD libraries.

The combination of the Digi-Key component information and Ultra Librarian will enable users to create CAD part representations for today’s components. “We believe the integration of Digi-Key component information directly into Ultra Librarian will help engineers speed their design process and further improve their product to market,” explained Mark Larson, president and COO of Digi-Key.
MUNICH – Zuken introduces CADSTAR 11, the latest version of the company’s desktop PCB design solution. CADSTAR 11 enables integration with all the latest technologies. It is reported to be the most accessible design solution on the market.

Features include an improved schematic symbol generation wizard to output numerous gates; supported sheet signal references for browsing through hierarchical schematics and additional interactive placement tools.

An improved Design Editor reduces costs associated with PCB manufacturing; pins can be hidden in schematics when a symbol is connected. The PR Editor is able to improve the control of skew constraints, and supports native and intelligent PDF output.
SANTA CLARA, CA– Agilent Technologies Inc. introduces the first fully coded bit error ration solution. It is built around Agilent’s 3GPP LTE Wireless Library and MXA Signal Analyzer and uses 2x2 and 4x4 multiple input/multiple output technology.

The library provides preconfigured simulation setups supporting downlink- and uplink-coded BER, as well as transmitter measurements that include error vector magnitude and spectral emission mask.

The solution allows wireless-systems designers and verification engineers to quicken the development of evolving TDD-LTE designs. It complements Agilent’s same capability for the frequency division duplexing version of LTE and is predicted to speed development of mobile devices and base stations in China.
THIEF RIVER FALLS, MNDigi-Key Corp. has signed a deal to distribute Tyco Electronics’ passive components worldwide.

The new deal is aimed at growing markets in Europe and Asia.

Previously Digi-Key distributed Tyco’s products on a regional basis.

Tyco supplies passive electronic components used in the automotive, computer, consumer electronics, communication equipment, appliance, aerospace and defense, industrial machinery and instrumentation markets.
WILSONVILLE, OR and KIRKLAND, WA– Mentor Graphics Corporation has opened the Mentor Graphics Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Laboratory at Lake Washington Technical College’s Kirkland campus. The lab will be used to teach PCB design methodologies based on the Mentor Expedition tool flow.
