WILSONVILLE, OR and SANTA CLARA, CA – Mentor Graphics Corp. and Agilent Technologies Inc. received EDN Magazine’s 2009 Innovation Award for their jointly developed RF Design Solution.
 
The RF Design Solution cuts PCB design cycle times in half, while improving the quality of mixed-technology designs. PCB mixed-signal designers have the ability to design a PCB using Mentor’s Expedition Enterprise or Board Station XE flows and integrate it with Agilent’s Advanced Design System (ADS) EDA software for RF design and simulation.
WEYBRIDGE, ENGLAND – TT electronics-integrated manufacturing services, a provider of electronic design services, has achieved ISO 14001 certification for its plant in Kuantan, Malaysia.
 
The ISO standard is an internationally accepted specification for environmental management systems. Created by the International Organization for Standardization, it assists organizations with reducing their impact on the environment.
 
The certification acknowledges that the company has developed and implemented a formal Environmental Management System, addressing environmental and pollution prevention through improvement initiatives. 
ROCHESTER, NY – EMA Design has purchased DesignAdvance, including all intellectual property, for an undisclosed sum. The deal will strengthen EMA’s focus on PCB solutions, while building its EDA portfolio.

PISCATAWAY, NJ  – Dr. David Kung has been named chair of the IEEE Design Automation Technical Committee (DATC), effective July 1. During the transition, he will work with Dr. Juan-Antonio Carballo, DATC’s chair and partner with IBM Venture Capital Group. 
 
DATC is a technology member organization of the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) and provides a forum where researchers, developers, users and students can exchange ideas.
 
Dr. Kung is currently the senior manager of the design automation department at IBM Research. “David brings a tremendous wealth of research and management experience to DATC, along with impressive accomplishments in the electronic design automation field,” said Dr. Carballo.
