WILSONVILLE, OR – Mentor Graphics has announced the winners of its 21st Annual PCB Technical Leadership Awards.
The awards recognize engineers and CAD designers using innovative methods and design tools to address design challenges and to produce industry-leading products. Entries from 17 countries and in five categories were judged by a panel of industry experts.
The 2009 award winners are:
• Best Overall Design: Tellabs, USA - Using the Expedition Enterprise, HyperLynx SI products. Design Team: Steve Everly, Stephen Mihal
• Consumer Electronics & Handhelds: Panasonic, Japan - Using the Expedition Enterprise, HyperLynx SI products. Design Team: Takayuki Hinokidani, Shuhei Osako
• Industrial Control, Instrumentation, Security & Medical: CiBoard Electronic, Germany - Using the PADS and Expedition Enterprise products. Designer: Michael Schwitzer
• Military & Aerospace: GE Fanuc, UK - Using the Expedition Enterprise product. Design Team: Ian McCormick, Jim Rose
• Blade & Servers, Memory Systems: Kontron, Canada - Using the Expedition Enterprise product. Designer: Benoit Mainville
• Telecom, Network Controllers, Line cards: Alcatel-Lucent, US - Using the Expedition Enterprise product. Designer: Susan Plul.
The judges panel was comprised of Happy Holden, retired senior technology specialist of Mentor Graphics; Gary Ferrari, technical support director, FTG Circuits; Pete Waddell, vice president of UP Media Group and publisher of Printed Circuit Designs & Fab magazine; Andy Kowalewski, senior interconnect designer, AdvantagePCB; and Rick Hartley, senior principal engineer, avionics division of L-3 Communications.
The awards were announced yesterday during a webcast.
