SAN JOSE and SANTA CLARA, CA– Cirexx International, Inc. announced that its Santa Clara printed circuit board (PCB) plant has completed certification and qualification assessment by the Defense Supply Center, Columbus, Ohio (DSCC).

Cirexx obtained two MIL qualifications: MIL-PRF-31032/4A for 16-layer, rigid-flex products and MIL-PRF-313032/1B for 22-layer, rigid products. The company believes that with the MIL qualifications, bleeding edge programs and high-end defense customers will be able to “take advantage of the manufacturing abilities, lead times and engineering support.” 

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Rohm and Haas Q3 earnings increased by about 2%. For the third-quarter ending Sept. 30, net income was $131 million ($0.67 per share) compared with a Q3 2007 net income of $129 million ($0.61 per share).

ASIA– Samsung Electro-Mechanics has signed a buyout deal with J-Three International Holding of Taiwan. As part of the 27.1 billion won (US$20.44 million) deal, Samsung Electro will have more than a 95% share of Unicap Electronics Industrial, currently owned by J-Three.
 
The deal goes into effect November 30, 2008. Unicap is located near Shanghai and specializes in the production of circuit boards in liquid-crystal displays. Samsung Electro expects the acquisition to increase its competitiveness in circuit board production.
ST. PAUL– 3M has released its sales figures for the third-quarter. Compared to 2007 figures, worldwide sales rose 6.2%, coming in at $6.6 billion.

NORTHFIELD, MN– All Flex Acquisitions, LLC has been recognized for its commitment to quality and on-time delivery. The honor came at the recent Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems Supplier Conference in Bloomington, MN. All Flex was awarded Outstanding Supplier Development and Continuous Improvement.
 
All Flex believes the honor is a result of a team effort between it and the supplier development team at Goodrich. Greg Clossr, president of All Flex, adds, “For a company this size of All Flex to receive this award, among the hundreds of Goodrich suppliers is a significant achievement.”
EUROPE-CCI Eurolam and Arlon have entered an agreement that will extend the distribution of Arlon’s ESD products within the European and the Mediterranean markets. CCI’s territory will expand to include Russia, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey, the Czech Republic and North Africa. The company has been Arlon’s only distributor in France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
 
To ease the transaction, Arlon will appoint a distributor to focus on microwave PTFE sales in France. Additional support for the new markets will come from the logistical and technical support already established in France and Germany.
 
In addition, Ohmega Technologies has chosen CCI Eurolam as the exclusive distributor of OhmegaPly, its resistor-conductor material, in Europe. CCI will also provide technical support to European customers.
