HITCHIN, UK – Photo Data Test Services Ltd. has acquired the assets and sales database for the photoplotting division of Technical Graphics Ltd. All photoplotting, phototooling and reprographic work will be transferred from Technical Graphics to Photo Data’s headquarters.
 
Photo Data engineers will work closely with Technical Graphics to implement a quick and smooth transfer of customer accounts. “ Our aim is to service our new customers as efficiently and simply as possible,” explains Glenn Swanton, managing director of Photo Data.
MELVILLE, NY and SINGAPORE – Park Electrochemical Corp. announced that it will layoff workers at its subsidiary, Nelco Singapore. Park believes the layoffs will not affect customer service at the electronics circuitry and advanced composite materials facility.
 
The workforce reduction is expected to bring a fourth-quarter charge of nearly $200,000. The date for the layoff and the amount of workers affected has not been released
BANNOCKBURN, IL – IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries has named Arthur Huenecke chief information officer. In this newly created position, Huenecke will have various responsibilities, including strengthening and leveraging IPC’s information infrastructure, overseeing development and maintenance of the company’s applications and databases and system security.
 
He has over 15 years of experience in business and information systems management, planning and processing. Prior to joining IPC, Huenecke worked for such companies as Flextronics and Elkay Manufacturing.
MELVILLE, NY – Park Electrochemical Corp. has appointed Lawrence Kuntz as sales director. He will direct his attention to the sales and marketing of the company’s Nelcote and Nova advanced composite materials lines. He brings over 30 years of experience to the position.
 
Prior to joining Park, Kuntz was the product development consultant for Adhesive Product Development and was president of Dielectric Polymers Inc. He has also held various marketing and sales positions with Chicago Extruded Metals Co. and Monsanto Co.
LYNCHBURG, VA – Waytec Electronics Corp. has named James Pierce as operations manager; he has over 25 years of experience in the industry. Prior to his appointment, Pierce worked for such companies as Benchmark Technologies, Parlex and Global Innovations.

GHENT, BELGIUM – Ucamco has signed an agreement naming WKK its distributor in China. WKK will handle Ucamco’s plotter and software products, including the Integr8tor PCB sales solution, the SilverWriter and calibr8tor series of laser photoplotters, SmartPlate and the UCAM family of front-end software.

WKK believes the relationship will benefit its existing product range and provide the company the opportunity to offer a complete hardware and software solution for the bare-board printed circuit board (PCB) industry. Ucamco feels that China is its major growth market, despite the unstable economy, and WKK represents the dynamic, established and well-respected partner the company has been looking for.
