MILPITAS, CA — Printed circuit board and multichip module design software revenue decreased 0.8% year-over-year to $292.9 million in the fourth quarter, according to the ESD Alliance. The four-quarter moving average for PCB and MCM increased 4.3%, the trade group added.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Total semiconductor unit shipments, including ICs, optoelectronics, sensor/actuator, and discrete devices, are forecast to rise 13% in 2021 to 1.13 trillion units, setting an all-time annual record, according to IC Insights. This would mark the third time semiconductor units have surpassed one trillion units in a calendar year.

NEEDHAM, MA – Worldwide shipments of smart home devices reached 801.5 million units in 2020, an increase of 4.5% over 2019, according to International Data Corp. Shipments are forecast to surpass 1.4 billion in 2025, with a five-year CAGR of 12.2%, as consumers seek additional conveniences brought about by home automation products and ambient computing through smart speakers and other products continues to rise.
