TAIPEI -- Electronic component production in Taiwan rose 11.1% year-over-year in November on strong demand for mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets and high-end chips.

The momentum could continue through the Lunar New Year holiday in February, a spokesperson for the Taiwanese government said, as customers increase stocks of everything from flat panels to ICs to printed circuit boards in preparation for the holiday break.
