TAIPEI -- Demand for electronics products pushed Taiwan's export orders to a new high in August, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said yesterday.

The country received $34.9 billion worth of export orders in August, up 23.3% year-over-year.

Electronics and IT/communications led the way, with export orders of $8.6 billion and $8.5 billion, respectively.

Through August, Taiwan has received export orders of $262.8 billion, up 33.5% year-over-year.
