BEIJING – A report by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reports that March exports of electronics and IT products fell 24.6% from last year to $87.2 billion. 
 
Laptop exports decreased 9.9% to $12.7 billion, and cell phone exports dropped 11.3% to $7.55 billion. LCD panels took the biggest hit, diving 47.6% to $3.05 billion.
 
March imports fell 31.1% year-over-year to $56.91 billion.
 
Exports to Japan, the US and Hong Kong, China’s three primary export destinations, were down 22.3%, 16.3% and 26.6% respectively. Volume was down in China’s three largest export provinces, as well. Guangdong, Shanghai and Jiangsu saw drops of 22.5%, 23.8% and 29.2% respectively.
