WASHINGTON -- Global semiconductor sales reached a record $120.6 billion in May, rising 9.2% from April and 104.1% year-over-year, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).

The increase marks the 15th consecutive month of sequential growth and reflects continued strength in demand across major markets.

SIA president and CEO John Neuffer said the industry continues to benefit from robust growth in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and China, helping drive the highest monthly sales total on record. Regionally, annual sales increased 132.2% in the Americas, 118.9% in Asia Pacific/All Other, 88.8% in China, 60.7% in Europe and 23.8% in Japan, while all regions also posted month-to-month gains. The association noted global semiconductor sales are projected to exceed $1.5 trillion in 2026.
