BANNOCKBURN, IL — Total North American PCB shipments rose 17.1% in June versus last year, and jumped 26.3% sequentially, IPC said today.
Year-to-date bookings fell 4.1 from a year ago but increased 14.4% from May.
The book-to-bill ratio fell 20 basis points to 1.03, its lowest mark in over a year. The is calculated by dividing the value of orders booked over the past three months by the value of sales billed during the same period. A ratio of more than 1.0 is considered a sign of future sales growth.
“Shipments in the PCB sector are improving, suggesting supply chain challenges might be abating. Shipments are up 10.4% over the last three months compared to a year ago,” said Shawn DuBravac, chief economist, IPC. “Orders appear to be stabilizing at a high level. Orders are off 1% over the same period, but up 23.6% compared to pre-pandemic levels.”
