MILPITAS, CA — North America-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted a 90-day average billings of $1.9 billion worldwide in April. The mark was down 29% year-over-year and up 4.7% sequentially, according to SEMI.

“April billings of North American equipment manufacturers increased 5% compared to the prior month,” said Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI. “While it is premature to call this upturn an inflection point in this cycle, the current improvement clearly reflects expenditures for advancing technology roadmaps.”
